Dear Eshelman Elementary Community,
I am very humbled and honored to introduce myself as the principal of Eshelman Elementary. I can assure you that I share in the school community’s dedication to caring for our students every day while providing them with a meaningful learning environment.
The 2024-2025 school year will mark my 25th year in education. I am excited to start my sixth year as Principal at Eshelman. I have served as an elementary classroom teacher for 14 years. I spent 2 years as a coordinator at Woodcrest Elementary. The 3 years I have been the Assistant Principal at Barton Hill Elementary.
I firmly believe that every child can exceed and that the cooperation between home and school builds trust and self-esteem in students. So our students can use their highest potential to shape their future, consequently, the future of our community and our nation. I am devoted to continually exploring new ideas to meet the needs of all students and to interact with parents and community members. We will be meeting as the staff, and with parents and students throughout the year to identify specific goals in the areas of student achievement, school climate, and parent communication.
It is our goal to see that each child be provided with unlimited opportunities to reach their fullest academic, social, and emotional potential. In achieving these aims, we need your support to ensure this will happen! Our home-school partnership is the cornerstone to our success. If you are not already involved, we urge you to volunteer at school in a variety of ways: help in the classroom, attend monthly ELAC meetings, participate in School Site Council, join PTO, and/or support our School-Wide activities. Research links parental involvement to student achievement and success. Thanks for partnering with us along this important endeavor. Your time and support means so much and truly makes a difference!
To conclude, please remember that my door is always open to you. I sincerely welcome your conversation and input during this year. Let us keep our students the primary focus of our work. I can’t wait to celebrate our collective successes during the 2024-2025 school year.
Sincerely,
Kelly Gomez, Principal
